Ava Ventura
Burlesque Performer - Actor - Singer - Teacher - Producer
Ava Ventura (born Katherine Potter) has been captivating audiences from an early age, shaped by a multicultural upbringing across Brunei, Australia, and Qatar, all while staying connected to her Scottish roots. Her global experiences have enriched her perspective, though they left her with few ties in the UK. Determined to carve out a career in the performing arts, Ava moved to London to pursue a BA in Musical Theatre at The Royal Central School of Speech and Drama. However, she soon realized that she was a small fish in a vast ocean, struggling to find her place in an industry that often felt limiting.
Feeling out of sync with the conventional world of Musical Theatre, Ava searched for a way to truly express herself. She found that outlet in burlesque—a powerful medium where she could create her own art and embrace the sensuality she had long suppressed.
The transformative nature of burlesque inspired Ava to share this empowerment with others. When the renowned Cheek of It school of burlesque invited her to teach, she eagerly accepted. Today, alongside her dynamic performances, Ava passionately teaches burlesque, helping her students discover the confidence and liberation that she found on stage.
